InfraRecorder is a free burning program for optical data media such as CDs and DVDs for Windows operating systems. It is written in the C ++ programming language and published under the GNU General Public License .

Emergence

InfraRecorder was launched by Christian Kindahl in 2006 during the Google Summer of Code . It uses the command line tools from cdrtools . In addition to cdrtfe , it is one of the few graphic burning programs for Windows that is published under a free license.

Functions

The program offers functions related to creating and copying CDs and DVDs, handling ISO images , CD and DVD-RWs and double-layer DVDs. It can also read audio CDs and save them as MP3 , Ogg - Vorbis , WMA and RIFF WAVE . It can also burn existing video DVD files. It supports simple drag and drop both within the program and between different programs (for example from Windows Explorer ).

At the current stage of development, there is no support for LightScribe and Labelflash .

There is also a portable version that can be run directly from removable media.

InfraRecorder runs under Windows 2000 or higher (NT kernel), the last version for Windows 98 / Me was 0.43.1. The program is available in 39 languages.
