Infrastructure network

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An infrastructure network is a wireless LAN in which communication between the individual end devices ( clients ) is made possible via a central node ( access point ). The clients must each log in to the node with their MAC address .

The access point can also act as an intermediary in another (also wired) network.

An infrastructure network requires more planning than an ad hoc network .
