Inguna Sudraba
Inguna Sudraba (born November 21, 1964 in Gulbene ) is a Latvian economist and politician . She is the founder and leader of the party From the Heart for Latvia (Lat. No sirds Latvijai ).
Life
Inguna Sudraba attended high school in her hometown of Gulbene, which she awarded with a gold medal for outstanding performance when she graduated from school in 1983. She graduated in economics from the University of Latvia in 1988; She then worked as a research assistant at the Research Institute of Agricultural Economics at the University of Latvia and completed post-graduate studies at Georgetown University .
After her return to Latvia, she headed the department for analyzing social developments in the Ministry of Welfare until 1992. From 1992 to 1994 she was chief economist at the Ministry of Finance; In 1994 she was appointed deputy state secretary in the Ministry of Finance and held office until 2003. In that year she briefly switched from civil service to business: in 2003/2004 she was Vice President of Parex Bank , where she was responsible for lending. In 2004 she was appointed President of the State Audit Office of Latvia, which she held until 2013.
On November 27, 2013, Inguna Sudraba announced the formation of a new party. This was then officially founded and registered on January 28, 2014 under the name No sirds Latvijai ( From the Heart for Latvia ). Sudraba is the party's founding chairwoman.
