Incubator transport

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The incubators is one of installation of the rescue service to bring to premature newborns or infants in a better equipped for this patient clinic. In the case of a vehicle with which lying patients are transported, usually an ambulance , the stretcher is exchanged for a transport incubator . During the transport, other pediatric / neonatology specialists, such as a midwife , pediatric nurse or pediatrician, are usually present in addition to the rescue specialists .

Provision forms

In addition to the one described above, which is probably the most widespread for cost reasons alone, other forms of storage have established themselves in various large cities in Germany that rely on a vehicle that is specially reserved for premature, newborn, infant or obstetric emergencies.

Baby ambulance

In more and more cities in Germany there is a baby ambulance (Baby-NAW). This special form of the ambulance is only intended for transporting newborns with the incubator. The Baby-NAW is staffed with at least one paramedic and a pediatric emergency doctor, often with a pediatric nurse. Accordingly, all of the equipment is specially designed for children (e.g. size of the intravenous cannulas , suction pump, etc.).

Stork wagon

In Berlin, as in other cities, so-called stork wagons have become established, which are specially equipped for obstetric emergencies and are manned by a midwife in addition to the rescue specialist.
