Inocencia Alcubierre

Inocencia Alcubierre Rodríguez (also Ino Alcubierre ; born June 16, 1901 in Uncastillo , Aragon , † 1927 in Madrid ) was a Spanish actress .

Life

Alcubierre moved to Barcelona with her parents as a child; As a teenager she worked as an usher in a cinema. In 1921 she got the lead role in her first film, the western Lilian . Some time later she cast one of the most important directors of the time, Ricardo de Baños , as Doña Inés in an elaborate production of Don Juan Tenorio in 1922. She then paused for three years because she had a daughter. After an insignificant film, it was seen in 1925 in Nobleza baturra , one of the most successful silent films in Spain, of which, however, no copy has survived. Her portrayal of María del Pilar, a "portrayal of pain and warmth of the heart" was praised. 1926 followed a role inLa malcasada , in which the then highly topical issue of divorce was dealt with.

Alcubierre died in a traffic accident.
