Island hall

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Inselhalle is an international event, conference and congress center in Lindau (Lake Constance) , which is operated by Lindauer Tourismus und Kongress GmbH (LTK). It is best known for the annual meeting of Nobel Prize winners and the Lindau Psychotherapy Weeks .

building

The Inselhalle is located in the north of the island of Lindau between the border of the old town, the Heidenmauer / Zwanziger Str. And the Kleiner See (part of Lake Constance between the island and the mainland). The entire event area is 1500 m², which is distributed over a large (divisible) hall, four adjoining rooms and the foyer . There is space for up to 1,100 people in the three-part hall, whose classic wooden furnishings also enable musical events under the best acoustic conditions. There is an underground car park under the building.

Events

The annual meeting of the Nobel Prize winners , the Lindau Psychotherapy Weeks and the meeting of depth psychology are particularly well known among the events in the Inselhalle . In addition, other congresses, meetings and workshops as well as trade fairs, musicals, concerts and multi-vision shows take place here on a regular basis. The premises are also used for events in the context of public participation (project forge). The island hall can be rented for a variety of events.

modernization

Serious deficiencies, too little space and outdated technical equipment were grounds for fear that prestigious events such as the Nobel Prize winners might migrate to neighboring Switzerland ( St. Gallen ), Austria ( Bregenz ) or the USA , which means that important economic impulses are missing would and the hotel industry, suppliers, craftsmen and retailers would be left behind. With a commitment of EUR 25 million from the Free State of Bavaria , the conversion was decided with the planned completion in 2017. In the course of the renovation, modernization and expansion of the Inselhalle, a parking garage was also built directly opposite. Therese-von-Bayern-Platz was built between the two buildings.
