Insieme (IT project)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Insieme was a computer science project , which from the Federal Tax Administration of Switzerland was launched in order to separate the current computer science systems of the stamp duty and value added tax to replace and unify. As a “uniform overall system”, Insieme was supposed to replace the outdated IT systems of the Swiss tax administration and align the processes to the customer.

In 2006, the tax administration and the contractor Unisys fell out and the contract was canceled. The Insieme project was then divided into numerous smaller projects and awarded to different contractors. In the following years the project got out of hand financially and Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf , Head of the Federal Department of Finance, canceled the project in September 2012. Up to this point in time, the major project had cost 115.9 million francs.

The follow-up project Fiscal-IT was launched in spring 2013 .
