Instance (IT)
In theoretical computer science , especially in complexity theory , the instance of a problem is a concrete input for which a specific question has to be answered.
In the sense of the English instance , “instance” denotes a concrete object , in contrast to the class , which here serves as an object template. An example of this is the car class , of which the vehicle with the license plate AB-CD 1234 (among potentially many others) exists as an instance .
