Schoenstatt Family Institute

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Schoenstatt Family Institute is a branch of the Schoenstatt Movement for Families .

The lifestyle of the community is based on the evangelical councils of chastity, poverty and obedience, but naturally differs from that of the celibate religious institutes and is family-friendly and contemporary.

The community consists of 300 married couples in 12 countries, mainly in Central Europe and South America .

In contrast to the other associations of the Schoenstatt Movement, the Institute of Families is not a recognized secular institute of the Roman Catholic Church , but strives for ecclesiastical recognition. Within the Schoenstatt Movement there is also the Schoenstatt Family Federation and the Schoenstatt Family League as family communities.
