Institute for Economy and Society

The Institute for Economy and Society Bonn e. V. (IWG BONN) was a private, social science research institute in Bonn . The institute was founded in 1977 by the CDU politician Kurt Biedenkopf and the social scientist Meinhard Miegel and dissolved on June 30, 2008. The latter was announced in October 2007. The IWG BONN has "scientifically processed issues from the field of economy and society and prepared them for practice" as well as "lightened the economic and social environment of political and entrepreneurial activity and thereby facilitated strategic planning". The work of the IWG will be continued in the Denkwerk Zukunft - Foundation for Cultural Renewal .

The board consisted of Meinhard Miegel and Kurt Biedenkopf , the managing director was Stefanie Wahl .

Working method

The institute determined its own work projects. In addition, it carried out contract research. Reports were created and a. for the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. (BMBF), the state government of Brandenburg, the Bertelsmann Foundation , the Main Association of the German Construction Industry and the German Institute for Retirement Provision . About two thirds of the institute's funding came from membership fees, most of which came from large companies. The remainder was revenue from contract research.
