Lobbying

A parliament and government liaison office in Berlin and a representation in Brussels are in constant contact with the Federal Government and the Bundestag and are supposed to convey the most important objectives to the political decision-makers.

In 2006 it emerged that an employee of the Main Association of the German Construction Industry was employed as an external employee in the Federal Ministry of Transport in the PPP working group and was there, among other things, supervised the drafting of the PPP Acceleration Act with the new regulation of the procurement law for construction contracts. The construction industry hopes to use PPP to secure future construction contracts despite tight public budgets.

history

The association was formed in 1950 from the "Working Group of the Construction Industry of the United Western Zones", which was founded in 1948. Predecessor organizations were the Reich Association of Civil Engineering (1933), the German Labor Front (1934) and the Construction Industry Economic Group (1935).

Differentiation from the construction industry

While the Main Association of the German Construction Industry represents the industrial construction companies - including the medium-sized and large construction groups, the Central Association of the German Construction Industry supports the craft construction companies - mainly small and medium-sized construction companies.
