from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The German Transport Forum eV is a trade association of over 170 German and European companies. The association sees itself as a discussion platform between business, politics and science on all questions of transport and above all represents the interests of logistics companies. The Transport Forum sees its goal as promoting initiatives, ideas and impulses for improving transport conditions in Germany and Europe.

history

The German Transport Forum in its current form emerged from the Verkehrsforum Bahn eV association , which was founded in Hanover in 1984 and which in the years that followed strongly advocated an economic criteria-oriented orientation of the Deutsche Bundesbahn, which was then still an authority , and the preparation of the rail reform . Among other things, the study Die Bahn as a commercial enterprise was created on behalf of the forum, and the changes required by the legislature for the later rail reform (Germany) were developed as a legal opinion.

Members of the Verkehrsforum Bahn were numerous representatives from German industry, business, science and politics, including Hermann Josef Abs , Daniel Goeudevert , Hellmuth Buddenberg , Helmut Kohl , Gerd Aberle , incumbent Federal Presidents, Federal and State Transport Ministers. Thanks to these and other prominent members, the forum quickly gained a certain social weight. With the expansion of lobbying activities for the other modes of transport road, waterway / ports and air traffic , the name was changed to Deutsches Verkehrsforum eV in 1992
