Gerd Aberle

Gerd Aberle (born September 30, 1938 in Stolp , Province of Pomerania ) is a German economist and transport scientist. He is a professor emeritus for economics at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen and has specialized in logistics and transport management.

Life

Gerd Aberle studied economics and social sciences at the University of Freiburg and the University of Cologne . He finished his studies in Cologne in 1962 with the examination to become a business graduate , and in 1965 he received his doctorate there. rer. pole. and in 1971 he completed his habilitation there for the subject of economic political science . 1972 to 1973 Scientific Councilor and Professor at the University of Cologne.

In 1973 he became a full professor for economics at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen. He received various calls to different universities, for example to the University of Dortmund in 1972 , to the Technical University of Berlin in 1979 , and to the University of Cologne in 1989. As part of the turnaround he was appointed September 15, 1990 visiting professor at the University of Transport in Dresden . There he was also the founding dean from March 1, 1991 to September 30, 1992. In 1994 he became honorary professor at the TU Dresden . In January 2007 Aberle received an honorary doctorate from the TU Dresden.

Until his retirement in 2006, Professor Aberle taught at the Department of Economics in Giessen .

He is married and has a daughter.
