The Institute for Applied Corruption (IfaK) is a realsatirical corruption institute based in Vienna .

Self-image and goals

IfaK collects, documents and mediates corruption. The activist group around the economist Roland Spitzlinger and the artist Julia Draxler would like to use satire to draw attention to the problem of corruption. With demands for the "democratization of corruption" and "You too can become more beautiful, richer and more intelligent!" the activists deal with the phenomenon of corruption and review the latest scandals and affairs.

Organization and structure

The legal form of the institute is a non-profit association. The basic funding was secured through a crowdfunding campaign. The institute receives additional income from membership fees and performance fees.

Corruption tours

In the spring of 2013, the association started weekly corruption courses through downtown Vienna. As part of the two-hour tour, which is led by actors, the participants can find out on site which addresses have the most to learn about corruption.

Art actions

  • In June 2013 Paul von IfaK applied for an internship at the Austrian Ministry of the Interior . The ministry has been involved in numerous corruption scandals in recent years, especially under the leadership of Ernst Strasser . [1]
  • Under the motto "beautiful, rich and corrupt" IfaK candidate Anna Hochreiter applied for the election for the Austrian Federal Presidency in 2016 via YouTube video [2] .

Corruption coaching

In August 2014 IfaK also offered individual corruption coaching "for the elite of tomorrow" for the first time as part of the European Forum Alpbach .

Corruption book

On October 13, 2014, the satirical guidebook " Try it out with corruption! " Was published , in which the authors explain "the secrets of the success of cousins, friends and amigos" using only practical examples. After all, according to the blurb, Germany and Austria have "produced internationally recognized personalities in the field of corruption in recent years, with whom we can study the most diverse forms of corruption and their proper execution practically on our doorstep." On the basis of current "best practice models", readers can find out how corruption works.

Corruption seminar

In the course of the book publication, the authors also began to offer cabaret seminars. These are supposed to help the participants to find their "personal way to the sunny places of society, from the purchase of a degree and title, to the choice of the right friends to the finished business plan."
