Integrated Initial Flight Plan Processing System

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Integrated Initial Flight Plan Processing System (IFPS) is a system provided by Eurocontrol for the creation of flight plans . It is available in most European countries, Turkey , Malta , Cyprus and the Canary Islands . Flight plans submitted in IFPS are checked by the system for format, syntax and route logic. If the processing is successful, an acknowledge message (ACK message) is sent to the flight plan issuer. Flight plan messages that cannot be processed are corrected manually within the IFPS; the flight plan issuer receives a manual message (MAN) . If the flight plan cannot be corrected manually, it will be rejected (REJ, Reject Message) and must be re-submitted.
