Integrated standby flight display

ISFD is a digital instrument cluster in aviation . The name is an acronym for "Integrated Standby Flight Display" for aircraft from the manufacturer BOEING . It shows attitude , speed , altitude , instrument landing system and magnetic heading . The aircraft manufacturer Airbus calls this instrument ISIS (Integrated Standby Instrument System).

The instrument is directly connected to the auxiliary pitot and other static sources.

The attitude is measured by internal inertial sensors. ILS data are made available by the 1st ILS recipient. The display gets its course information from the captain's primary flight display. The exchange of information is in the polar regions is not available. The standby magnetic compass must be used to confirm the course given by the ISFD.

A light sensor automatically adjusts the light intensity for the ambient lighting conditions .

At Airbus this device is called ISIS (Integrated Standby Instrument System), but the functionality is similar.
