The InterRail Holding is in the Switzerland -based, international transportation company with a focus on rail freight and part of the Trans Invest -Konzerns.

Interrail offers rail freight services throughout the Euro-Asian region or along the Europe-Caucasus-Asia transport corridor (“New Silk Road”). In addition to brokering freight, Interrail also uses its own container fleet and, in the CIS , its own and leased rolling stock. As a neutral provider, the group also operates container block trains between Western Europe, Russia, the CIS, Central Asia and China. The service package includes, among other things, consistent freight rates, document processing, pre- and post-carriage, tracking and the provision of containers.

Interrail has been operating as a train operator between China and Europe for several years and has been increasing its commitment to operating container block trains between China and Europe since 2012.

In addition to transporting containers, the company also offers the transport of goods in conventional rail wagons as well as project and bulk loads (cotton / fertilizer).

Geographically, Interrail has launched new train connections from China to Iran, Spain, Afghanistan, Latvia, Central Asia, Russia and the UK.

The Interrail Group was also the founder of the container block train system, which was launched in 1995 under the name OstWind (vice versa: WestWind). These were weekly train connections between Germany and the CIS countries and Mongolia.
