The interest group Luftfahrt Fischamend (ILF) is an interest group of private historians, estate owners and model builders.

The community of interests Luftfahrt Fischamend was officially founded as an association in March 2016. He works on topics related to Austrian aviation history such as researching different aspects of aeronautics from the beginning to modern times, related archive, exhibition, museum, publication and model building projects as well as the current focus on the intensive, historically well-founded processing of Fischamend's role in the Development of aviation from 1908 to the present. The focus is on the Austro-Hungarian Military Aeronautical Institute from 1908 to 1920.

Projects

The following projects were carried out in close cooperation with HTL Mödling :

  • Körting airship hangar of the Fischamend Military Aeronautical Institute
  • Stagl-Mannsbarth-Luftschiffhalle in the MAA Fischamend
  • Propeller test bench / propeller wind tunnel

Other projects are:

  • Helicopter development 1916 to 1918
  • Air screw copying machine
  • Air screw copying machine

Events and special exhibition HGM

The Army History Museum Zeltweg shows the ILF exhibition on the military aeronautical institute Fischamend.

In addition to regular book presentations by its members, the ILF organized or was directly related to the following events

  • Alexander Kustan's air courier line in 1918 at Vienna Airport
  • 75 years of The Little Prince - a reminder of the life's work of the author and aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupery
  • ILF and Vienna Airport present historical information about the founding of the airport in the airport's visitor center
  • Laura Wiesböck presents her book In Better Society
  • Opening of the exhibition Movement in the Air at Vienna Airport

Fischamender city messenger

Each issue of the Fischamend Aviation Community has an article on the historic aviation research facility of the Danube Monarchy in the aviation town of Fischamend.
