history

Interlloyd was founded in the Netherlands in 1894 . In 1988 the company applied for approval in Germany, but initially did not do business there. In 1991 Fortis SA / NV acquired the company. A year later, in 1992, a branch was set up under the name “Interlloyd Schadenversicherungsgesellschaft Niederlassung der Interlloyd Schadeverzekering Maatschappij NV for Germany”. In 1995, the sales reorientation was implemented in the form of broker-oriented coverage concepts.

In 1997, Interlloyd Versicherungs-AG was founded and the entire portfolio of the branch was transferred to the stock corporation. At the same time, through a takeover, Interlloyd Versicherungs-AG became a 100% subsidiary of ARAG Allgemeine Versicherungs-AG - the composite insurer of the ARAG Group. Today Interlloyd Versicherungs-AG is one of the few clearly positioned "broker-oriented insurance companies" for private property insurance and commercial insurance.
