The International Association for Dental Research ( IADR ; English for International Association for Dental Research), based in Alexandria (Virginia) (United States), is a nonprofit organization with nearly 12,000 members worldwide. Its mission is to promote dental research, to disseminate knowledge about improving oral health worldwide, and to facilitate the communication and application of related research results. The official organ of the organization and also the American Association for Dental Research (AADR) is the Journal of Dental Research (JDR). The IADR issues an annual report every year. The organization was founded on December 10, 1920 in New York City . Its first president was James Leon Williams . William John Gies was a founding member, secretary general from 1928 to 1938 and the 16th President of the IADR from 1939 to 1940.
