The Journal of Dental Research , abbreviated J. Dent. Res., Or JDR , is a scientific journal published by SAGE Publishing on behalf of the International Association for Dental Research and the American Association for Dental Research . The magazine is published twelve times a year. Works from all areas of dentistry are published.

The JDR was founded by William John Gies in 1919. Gies was the editor until 1935. From 1958 to 1969 Frank J. Orland was the editor.
