International Association of Civil Engineering Students

I nternational A ssociation of C ivil E ngineering S tudents, also IACES is the international student association of civil engineers - but also architecture students . It was founded in Delft in 1989 ; and since then is at home at over 50 universities worldwide. There are currently active representations in Germany in Wuppertal , Berlin , Darmstadt and Karlsruhe .

The task of IACES is to maintain and expand the international network of students of civil engineering and architecture. IACES enables an internationally oriented career as part of the activities that take place during your studies.

The work of IACES is based on the initiative of students. Exchanges and workshops are organized at regular intervals, which contribute to bringing culture, country and people closer together, but also to enable engineering and educational exchange between students and their faculties throughout Europe and beyond.

The official language of IACES is English.

The board of the association is called the General Board (GB) and consists of 5 students from as different countries as possible. Since 2003, the board has been from Wuppertal, whose Local Committee (LC) at the Bergische Universität has made a decisive contribution to the IACES 'recent years.
