International Maritime Bureau

The International Maritime Bureau ( IMB ) is a division of the International Chamber of Commerce , based in London, specializing in the fight against crime at sea .

The non-profit organization was created in 1981 together with the International Maritime Organization with the task of combating crime and fraud in order to secure the sea trade and the transport of goods.

The office has observer status at Interpol , has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the World Customs Organization and has been operating a 24-hour reporting center for piracy in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur since 1992 . The IMB publishes a weekly report on current incidents at sea on its website.
