International Masters (ring tennis) 2002
The 1st International Masters in ring tennis took place on May 19, 2002 as part of the German Gymnastics Festival in Leipzig. The occasion was the Germany tour of the South African national ring tennis team. Four players from both nations were allowed to participate. The game plan was created according to a seeding list. In the men's race, Reinhard Plog from Germany secured the title against the South African Pieter de Bruin in a hard-fought final. In the women's category, after a sovereign tournament, the South African Wilna van der Merwe clearly won the final against the reigning German champion Maike von Aschwege from Mannheim.
