International Masters Games Association

The International Masters Games Association (IMGA) is the global governing body for senior sports (also known as Masters Sports ). To this end, it organizes the World Masters Games , the world games for senior athletes , every four years at different locations . The European Masters Games are also under the patronage of IMGA .

The aim of the IMGA is to promote lifelong sporting competition, friendship and understanding between mature athletes, regardless of age, gender, race, religion, sport or status. IMGA wants to promote the Olympic movement and supports the "Sport for All" philosophy of the Olympic Charter .

The association was founded in 1995 and is based in Lausanne . He is a member of Sportaccord and is recognized by the IOC .
