International organization of securities regulators

The International Organization of Securities Commissions (short IOSCO of English. International Organization of Securities Commissions ) in 1983 as an international association of securities commissions established in the succession of the same pure-American organization from 1973. It is headquartered in Spain Madrid . Its aim is to promote uniform global stock exchange and securities admission standards.

In 2000, IOSCO recommended that its members approve IAS and IFRS for listing on national stock exchanges. Since 2005, every capital market-oriented parent company with headquarters in an EU country has been obliged to prepare IFRS consolidated financial statements.
