International Research InstituteS (IriS)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The International Research InstituteS (IriS) is the largest international network of independent, renowned market research and consulting institutes. The aim of IriS is to take appropriate account of the respective local and national characteristics in international market research projects in order to achieve valid and internationally comparable results.

IriS was founded in 1986 by former INRA members and is now active in over 36 countries in Europe, Asia, North and Central America and Australia. The number of members is limited to one company per country. With this restriction and a strict selection process for partner institutes, the IriS network aims to guarantee high quality standards and efficient international cooperation. All IriS members work according to the ICC / ESOMAR Code and the IriS Quality Code. Iris partners in German-speaking countries are the market research institutes Vocatus AG (Germany), the market Institute (Austria) and Intervista (Switzerland).

The central body is the IriS Council, which consists of 5 members. Its president is Stéphane Marder. The total turnover of the IriS institutes in 2006 was over 200 million euros.
