International bibliography on the history of paper

The International Bibliography on the History of Paper (IBP) is a bibliography on the history of paper published in 2003 . The internationally oriented catalog is one of the specialist reference works for the common authority file of the German National Library (DNB). According to their own information, the publisher is the German Library and the German Museum of Books and Writing of the German Library in Leipzig .

At DNB, the entire work belongs to the subject group "Industrial and craft production" and includes paper and other writing materials, general information and overall representations.

The IBP up to the end of the recording period 1996 comprised four volumes in 2003:

  • Volume 1: General History of Paper - Territories and Places. 0001-09103
  • Volume 2: Individual aspects of the production process - paper history research. 09104-20000
  • Volume 3: Register of persons, register of corporations, geographical register, register of subject terms
  • Volume 4: Title register: Concordance list on WBB, BBB, LEIF and PULSIANO

The work edited by Frieder Schmidt and Elke Sobek and published with the collaboration of Mathias Manecke and others in the Munich publishing house KG Saur received the ISBN 3-598-11259-9 for the complete work.

Reviews were written in 2004 by the librarian Klaus Schreiber , also in 2004 by the literary scholar and Germanist Bodo Plachta and in 2005 by the archivist, art historian and theologian Hanns Peter Neuheuser .
