International Hydrological Decade

The International Hydrological Decade (IHD) was a major UNESCO project for the years 1965 to 1974.

The ten-year association of national research projects aimed to promote regional and international cooperation in the field of hydrology and, in part, oceanography . Because many aspects of hydrology do not stop at national borders.

The largest cooperation in Europe was that of the 8 Danube countries . It resulted in the publication of the 4-language compilation published under the aegis of UNESCO and the then Czechoslovakia .
