International fair for inventions

The international fair for inventions ( French Salon international des Inventions , full name "International Fair Inventions, New Techniques and Products", French Salon International des Inventions, des Techniques et Produits Nouveaux ) is an annual fair in Geneva .

The fair has been organized by Jean-Luc Vincent since 1972. It takes place every spring for five days in a hall of the Palexpo exhibition complex . At the 36th edition in April 2008, 720 exhibitors from 45 countries presented around 1,000 inventions , which were seen by around 72,435 visitors, including around 600 journalists.

New inventions will be presented that are already legally protected (e.g. by patents ). Around half of the visitors are professionals who come for business relationships ( licensing rights , manufacturing, distribution) with inventors.

In 2020 the fair was postponed from March to September due to the COVID-19 pandemic .
