International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Traffic
The International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking , also known as " World Drug Day " for short , officially International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking takes place annually on June 26th . This day of action was established in December 1987 by resolution 42/112 of the United Nations General Assembly and is directed against the abuse of drugs . Similar to World No Tobacco Day , World Drugs Day is the occasion for campaigns and press releases every year . On the part of the United Nations, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is responsible for “World Drugs Day”.
