International Fajr Film Festival
The Fajr International Film Festival ( Persian جشنوارهٔ فیلم فجر Dschaschnware-ye Film-e Fajr , DMG Ǧašnvāre-ye Fīlm-e Faǧr ) is an Iranian film festival that is held annually in February in Tehran .
The festival was launched in 1982 on the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture and is run by the Farabi Cinema Foundation . It sees itself as a bridge between the western and eastern film world.
The festival's prize is the crystal Simorgh . It is awarded in the categories of international film and national film .
