Interstellar Mapping and Acceleration Probe

The Interstellar Mapping and Acceleration Probe ( IMAP ) is a space probe planned by the US space agency NASA to explore the heliosphere .

The probe should orbit the sun 1.5 million km within Earth orbit, at Lagrange point L 1 , and investigate interactions between the solar wind and the interstellar medium .

The start is planned for the 4th quarter of 2024 Template: future / in 4 years. The group comprises the Princeton University and the Johns Hopkins University .
