Iacob works out his motifs in oils, watercolors and drawings. In still lifes and portraits, color is his characteristic means of expression.

“In Ioan Iacob's pictures, an exploding color dominates, which the painter achieves by varying the individual hues. Contrasts are created in his work process through complementary painting. His pictures are partly composed on the basis of many objects or partly concentrate on one subject. The image size varies from giant to small formats. The absolute painting of the artist is reflected in the modification of a tone and a color tone in the objectively reduced pictures. No blue is like the other. The object appears as a colored surface and creates a variety of associations. That is the extraordinary thing about Ioan Iacob's painting. "
