education

The bachelor's and master's degree programs on offer (designed in accordance with the Bologna reform) impart basic and up-to-date knowledge. This is supplemented by student project work with tasks from industry.

The flexible study concept allows different forms of study: full-time, part-time (standard courses) and part-time (individual program).

The range of bachelor's programs includes:

  • Energy and environmental technology
  • Electrical and Computer Engineering
  • Information and Communication Systems, trinational (at the Windisch, Furtwangen, Mulhouse locations)
  • Computer science
  • iCompetence (profiling in IT)
  • mechanical engineering
  • Mechatronic trinational (at the Muttenz, Lörrach, Mulhouse locations)
  • Optometry (at the Olten site)
  • System technology (automation)
  • industrial engineering

A bachelor's degree usually lasts 6 semesters. The electrical engineering and information technology, computer science, iCompetence, mechanical engineering, systems engineering, industrial engineering courses can also be completed part-time and in this case last at least 8 semesters.

At the Master’s level, the Master of Science in Engineering course (MSE for short, at the Brugg-Windisch, Zurich) locations is offered with the following specializations:

  • Business engineering
  • Computer Sciences
  • Electrical engineering
  • Mechanical engineering

The master’s degree lasts at least 3 semesters.

further education

The university has a wide range of further education opportunities. In addition to the Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) and Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) courses, it offers shorter specialist seminars, courses, workshops and conferences in the various specialist areas:

  • Automation
  • Computer Science
  • Purchasing / procurement
  • electronics
  • Foundry technology
