Ionization buffer

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ionisationspuffer (also known as Ionisationshemmer hereinafter) are chemical compounds which in the flame atomic absorption spectroscopy are used to the ionization of the analyte in the flame to prevent. This is undesirable because the analyte should be present as atomic vapor. Salts of alkali metals with low ionization energy such as B. cesium chloride or potassium chloride , which reduce the ionization of the analyte with a higher electron affinity due to the excess electrons caused by their ionization .
