Igor Presnyakov ( Russian Игорь Витальевич Пресняков , Igor Vitalyevich Presnyakov ; born May 8, 1960 in Moscow ) is a Russian guitarist who became known in 2007 through his videos on the Internet platform YouTube . He studied classical music in Moscow and later went to the Netherlands to advance his career.

He is best known for arranging classics of pop and rock music for acoustic guitar, which he often uses as percussion support. Sometimes he also sings to his arrangements. This has earned him over 325 million video views on YouTube and more than 1,000,000 subscribers worldwide (as of June 2017).

In 2012 he made a tour in the USA and in 2014 in Germany. In March 2015 he made a short tour to China.

Career

In the late 1970s he was a member of various hard rock bands, in which he mainly acted as a guitarist and singer. In 1991 he moved to the Netherlands and started a career as a solo guitarist . Since moving to Europe, he has developed his own way of playing the guitar. His notoriety rose after he launched his YouTube channel in April 2007.
