Iphitus (son of Eurytus)
Iphitus was the eldest son of King Eurytus of Oichalia (Thessaly) in Greek mythology . He had three brothers Didaion , Clytios and Toxeus, and a sister Iole .
Iphitus and his father Eurytus were considered excellent archers, which is why his father had made the promise to give his daughter to anyone who wins against him and his son in archery. Both lost in archery against Herakles , who was supposed to get Iole as a wife, which was then refused to him by her father. Iphitus had inherited his father's bow, which he had received from Apollo , and gave it to Odysseus as a present.
