Irene Schroll (* 1966 in Traunstein ) is a former German cross-country skier and biathlete .

Life and accomplishments

Irene Schroll from SC Vachendorf was the Bavarian champion in cross-country skiing in 1986 in the junior women and the women over 10-kilometer classic and in the junior relay she was German runner-up. In 1993 she was again Bavarian champion in the 15-kilometer classic. Schroll was part of the German national biathlon squad towards the end of the 1980s and the beginning of the 1990s. In 1990 she started her first and only biathlon world championships in Minsk and finished 15th in the sprint race, was eighth with Inga Kesper and Petra Schaaf in the relay and won the silver medal in the team competition with Daniela Hörburger , Kesper and Schaaf behind the Soviet Union team. At the German Championships in 1989 she won the sprint and relay titles in Bavaria, and the individual title in 1990. In 1990 and 1993 Schroll was awarded the Silver Ski as the best Bavarian biathlete of the year.

Schroll works as a gardener and landscaper and also gives cross-country skiing courses in winter. After her active career, she won several cross-country skiing runs and competed in several marathons and other road races .
