Irmgard Schmid

Irmgard Schmid (born March 26, 1945 in Haldern , Rees district ) is a German SPD politician .

education and profession

After elementary school Irmgard Schmid completed an apprenticeship as a saleswoman in the food industry from 1959 to 1962. An apprenticeship as a butcher followed from 1962 to 1964. Then she worked as a journeyman. Schmid took the second education path. In 1967 she passed the special examination for talented students. From 1967 to 1970 she went through a degree, which she completed in 1970 with the state examination for teaching at elementary and secondary schools. From 1970 to 1990 she was employed as a teacher at a comprehensive school. In 1990 she resigned from office according to Section 32 of the Law on Representatives (AbgG NW).

politics

Irmgard Schmid has been a member of the SPD since 1970. From 1975 to 1989 and again from 1999 to 2001 she was a councilor in the city council of Kierspe. Here she was the deputy mayor from 1979 to 1989.

Irmgard Schmid was a directly elected member of the 11th , 12th and 13th state parliaments of North Rhine-Westphalia from May 31, 1990 to June 2, 2005 .
