Isaac Vos or Isaac de Vos , Isaak de Vos (after † 1653 in Amsterdam ) was a Dutch actor and poet of Schwänken and Kluchten during the Dutch Golden Age in the 17th century .

Vos was engaged as an actor in the comic field at the Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam from 1638 , after which he appeared as a poet and playwright. Well-known works were the “Klucht van de Moffin” , originally “Loome Lammert” (1642); the native German Trijn tries to marry her son. The "Klucht van de Mof" (1644) is a farce about a German immigrant Joachim Buelecke who is an apprentice to an Amsterdam shoemaker and begins an undesirable relationship with his daughter and thus gets sidelined. Both pieces show, exaggerated stereotyping, the “German” nature that is perceived as strange and unpleasant ( see Mof ). The “nobody-someone-stuff” ( Elckerlijc ), “Iemant en Niemant. Zinnespel ” (1645) is freely adapted from a German model, which in turn is based on an English version “ Nobody and Somebody ” . The drama "Gedwongen Vrient" (1646) is an imitation of Lope de Vegas "El amigo hasta la muerte" . The piece "Singende klucht van Pekelharingh in de kist" (1648) was a translation from English. A last known work was the rough swank "Robbert Leverworst" (1650) he describes the healing of a notorious drunkard. Despite his busy work and the boom in his pieces, he passed away impoverished.
