Isabelle Demers

Isabelle Demers (* 1982 in Lachine (Montreal )) is a Canadian concert organist . She is a professor of organ at Baylor University in Texas.

Life

Demers began studying piano and organ at the age of 11 at the Montréal Conservatory of Music . In 2003 she graduated here and completed postgraduate studies at the École Normale de Paris-Alfred Cortot . She continued her studies at the Juilliard School in New York with Paul Jacobs. Here she obtained her doctorate in music with an analysis of Bach's St. John Passion.

Isabelle Demers was a prizewinner and finalist of several international organ competitions. She appears in concerts in the USA, Canada and Europe.

Johannes Adam from the Badische Zeitung qualified Isabelle Demers as a “talent of the century” on the occasion of her concert on the four organs of the Freiburg Cathedral on August 3, 2017.
