The Isla Lobos is a small Mexican to the municipality Tamiahua in the state of Veracruz owned island in the Gulf of Mexico .

The island is located 53 km north of Tuxpan , 29 km northeast of Tamiahua and 6.4 km southeast of the Cabo Rojo lagoon .

The island, which is around 400 m long and up to 200 m wide, is uninhabited except for two lighthouse keepers and a park ranger. It is frequented by sailors and anglers. Camping is allowed in designated places.

It should not be confused with the Mexican Isla Lobos (Sonora) in the Gulf of California .
