The Islote Becerra ( Spanish ) is an east-west facing island around 250 m long in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It's in Ardley Cove .
Chilean scientists named it after the last name of the squadron leader of the Chilean Navy, under whose direction the Centro Meteorológico Antártico was built on King George Island in February 1969 .
