Israel Diamond Exchange is a diamond exchange in Ramat Gan , Israel .

The exchange is considered the second largest diamond exchange in the world. It is located in the Diamond Exchange District and consists of a complex of four buildings connected by bridges.

history

The first diamond grinding shop opened in Israel in 1937. In the following 30 years this branch of the economy grew and in the 1960s a trade association was founded, which later became the diamond exchange. Moshe Schnitzer was president of the stock exchange from 1967 to 1993 . In 1968 the first building of the complex was opened in the Diamond District, which at the time was one of the tallest buildings in Israel. In the 1980s the Maccabi Tower and the Noam Tower were added. In 1992 the Diamond Tower, consisting of 32 floors, was built.
