Israelite family sheet

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Israelitisches Familienblatt was a Germany-wide magazine that was distributed free of charge to members of the Jewish communities. It appeared with several local editions, such as the Frankfurt Israelite family paper , the Berlin Israelite family paper and the family paper for the Israelite communities of Hamburg, Altona, Wandsbek and Harburg .

In 1889, Max Lessmann founded a book printing and publishing company as a specialty printing company for trade and industry at ABC-Strasse 57 in Hamburg .

The magazine appeared there from 1898 to 1935, after which it was published in Berlin until 1938. The magazine’s coverage is considered neutral and comprehensive, using a conciliatory tone.

The magazine was banned on November 10, 1938, one day after the Reichspogromnacht .
