It's Everybody's War is an American documentary from the year 1942 .

The film begins in a small town in the USA. Two years before the war began, some of the men joined the United States National Guard . Nobody could imagine that these men would go to war one day. The relatives received cheerful letters that these soldiers sent from the training camp and later from the Philippines .

In 1942 the Japanese invaded the Philippines. Filipino soldiers fought alongside their American allies in the Battle of the Philippines . The first telegrams with the news of the soldier's death reached the relatives. Many of the city's citizens are affected, abandoning their work and seeking solace in pointless activities. The island fortress of Corregidor fell on May 6, 1942, and the survivors were taken prisoner by Japan.

This is the reason for the citizens of the city to work for the war industry. The citizens forego luxury in order to free up more resources, they buy war bonds.

In 1943 the film was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Documentary .
