Iulius Florus (Treverer)

Iulius Florus († 21 ) was a Gallic nobleman from the Treveri tribe .

His family had Roman citizenship granted by Julius Caesar .

He was one of the leaders of the Treveri and Haedu uprising in AD 21 under Iulius Sacrovir . After an association of Treverian horsemen loyal to Rome, the later Ala Gallorum Indiana , under the command of Iulius Indus , was able to suppress the rebellion, Iulius Florus evaded arrest by suicide.
