Iván Cepeda Castro

Iván Cepeda Castro (* 1962 in Bogotá ) is a Colombian human rights lawyer and politician. He has been a member of the Polo Democrático Alternativ (PDA) in the Congress of the Republic of Colombia since 2010 (currently October 2011) . He is also a spokesman for the Movement of Victims of State Crimes (MOVICE).

In 1994 Iván Cepeda Castro's father was murdered.

In 2009, together with Jorge Rojas, he published the book “ A las puertas de El Ubérrimo ” about the networks of paramilitaries in the Department of Cordoba . The book became a bestseller in Colombia.

Because of threats against him he is accompanied by Peace Brigades International (PBI) staff .
