Ivalo Abelsen
Ivalo Christa Abelsen (* 1971 in Nuuk ) is a Greenlandic painter, graphic artist and postage stamp artist.
Life
Abelsen studied at the architecture school in Aarhus in Denmark , then at the art school in Nuuk (Greenland). There she took the Bachelor's exam on Dorset culture . She is a teacher for graphics, painting and sculpture at the Pedagogical College for Design in Nykøbing Falster , as well as a teacher for visual arts and culture of the Inuit at the Middle Greenland High School (GUX) in Nuuk.
Ivalo Abelsen works with the graphic possibilities offered by typical Nordic and, in particular, Greenlandic materials. For several years she has been drawing designs for Greenlandic postage stamps.
